I wanted to thank the folks at Mediapost for putting on a great event last week in Captiva. I was one of the few who attended both the Email Insiders event and the Search Insiders event.
Below is my talk at Search Insiders, where I deliver a comprehensive content marketing case on email marketing and its role in SEO and Social Media. What really excited me was the convergence of a Content Marketing Strategy as the glue that binds all of these marketing silos together.
The terrific presentation by John Yi from Facebook was another highlight. John spoke about Bowling vs. Pinball....more on that later. I was also pleased that so much of the talks were focused on Conversions. On day two, the opening talk was about tying content marketing to lead generation (thanks Captain Obvious, LOL) and a talk by Comcast titled "The other 98%," meaning the 98% of visitors that don't click through. Please stick with this video to the end and look at the 16% conversion rates in this case.
It's funny, when you deliver relevant content through the right channel for the right individual, they tend to convert at a really high rate :-)
