Hi there!

My name is Allison Bowen and I work in the Client Success department at
Compendium as an Account Manager, Online Marketing. I'm a graduate of Butler University and am enjoying diving into the world of blogging for business.
One thing I know for sure is that writing a post does not need to be nearly as complicated as many people make it seem. The purpose of my blog is to show you that corporate blogging is actually quite basic. You don't have to be a journalist by trade or even a fantastic writer to create an awesome post that can win your company business. I'm here to give you the help you need as you too dig further into the vast world of social media.
On a personal note, I'm orginally from the very northeast corner of Indiana and absolutely love any and all water activities!
The
rules and best practices of Twitter are much different than those
of other websites. In part, this is because Twitter is not
meant to be a social networking site. In fact, as it outlines
on its website:

I
have a confession to make. I've been working for a
business blogging
software company for nearly three years, yet when I was asked
to post about the "Bloggies", I had no idea where to begin.

"I don't know what to write about anymore."
"I've run out of ideas."
"Is it
really that important that I frequently
post?"
We know. Posting isn't always easy. Getting new blog posts online
frequently is often not the top priority for an employee when he or
she sits down with the morning coffee (maybe...

One of the great things I
love about working for a tech company is that the industry is
always changing. And, luckily for us, things are definitely
trending our way!
As we see more and more businesses look for the perfect corporate
blogging solution, they often don't know where to start. We
hear the typical "Well, I've looked into Wordpress, and some...

When most people think about the
Children's Museum of
Indianapolis, they think fun. They think adventure.
They think
so much to do! I personally have
never talked to anyone, young and old alike, that has not had a
blast when they've visited the Museum.
Recently, the
Children's
Museum partnered with
Compendium and is demonstrating
story harvesting at its...

These days, you may notice that you've been hearing more and
more about the term "Custom Content." But what exactly is
custom content? And why is the tide turning towards it?
Custom content is just what it sounds like - it's content that is
customized for your organization. Long gone are the days of
generic print media and one statement for your...
